UVA Davenport Field Expansion
The University of Virginia Baseball Stadium expansion consisted of totally renovating the existing finished space under the grandstand and adding 12,000 SF of new space. These changes have brought the facility in line with the top college baseball facilities in the country. Among the additions are a 3-cage indoor batting cage, team locker room, weight and training room, coaches’ lounge, film room, team meeting room, and a Hall of Fame for visitors and recruits. Also included are new visitors’ and officials’ locker rooms, complete with showers, bathrooms and office space. This project presented numerous challenges, none more so than the schedule. Even with a record winter and approximately 70 ECO’s executed during the contract, Martin Horn, through hard work and great coordination, was able to reach substantial completion before the season began.
