Three Notch’d Brewery was a project that had many challenges but when finished, it turned out to be a one of a kind space. After renovating the existing 15,000 sqft warehouse into a brewery/restaurant and adding another 3,000 sqft metal building for the brew equipment, it has become one of the biggest and most attractive breweries in the Charlottesville area. It is a very warm and welcoming atmosphere in the heart of the IX Art Park. The large panes of glass in the space lets you look upon the brew process and equipment, as well as an opening that look over the artful landscape of IX’s. Items of significance would be the large live edge wood columns, the concrete bar tops, outside beer garden, Storefront systems looking into brewery and IX, Tile Bar Top, and Customs Murals. It was very important to finish the space before the Virginia Craft Brewer’s Fest as Three Notch’d was hosting the event, so it was important to be open by then! Martin Horn was responsible for demolition, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, miscellaneous metals, bathroom accessories, doors, frames and hardware.
