National Radio Astronomy Observatory
The 28,000 sq. ft. addition to the National Radio Astronomy Observatory was completed while the rest of the facility remained operational. Extensive and complex mechanical systems were installed, as well as a new HVAC system for the entire building. Martin Horn tied-in to existing systems and re-roofed the existing building. Exterior upgrades were also completed during this project, tying the addition to the existing facility and adding “Jeffersonian” features. The addition included the library pictured above, as well as a multitude of offices.
