Free Union Country School
This “Green” project consists of a single-story free-standing 5,000 sf addition to the existing school. The addition is two separate buildings connected by a breezeway. Green features include SIPS panels, geothermal system, efficient lighting, low VOC flooring, no VOC paint, and low E glass in the windows, among others. The design of this addition is contemporary compared to the existing school’s log cabin style. The building houses a community hall, art room, classrooms, offices and support spaces. The exterior spaces include decks, walkways, a play court, landscape area, and a boiler area.
