At Martin Horn, safety isn’t a box to check—it’s the foundation of everything we do. And no one has done more to build and reinforce that foundation than Pam Haney, our General Superintendent and the guiding force behind our safety program for over 20 years.

Some say our incredible 2024—an entire year without a lost-time accident—happened because no one wanted to let Pam down. There’s no doubt that Pam commands respect. People listen when she talks, they take her words seriously, and they don’t want to disappoint her. But our safety culture runs deeper than that. It isn’t just about Pam—it’s because of Pam.

Pam has spent the last two decades teaching, correcting, and holding every one of us accountable. She’s shaped an environment where safety isn’t an afterthought or an obligation—it’s an expectation. She has personally mentored hundreds of people—carpenters, laborers, superintendents, project managers, and executives alike—instilling in them not just the rules of safety, but the mindset. She’s built a culture where doing the job right means doing it safely, every single time.

This milestone isn’t just about one great year; it’s about the standard she has set and the ongoing commitment we all have to uphold it. Safety doesn’t take a day off, and neither does Pam. Whether you’re doing it for Pam, because of Pam, or simply because it’s the right thing to do, safety is a daily commitment—one we all must continue to make.

And let’s be clear: this is not a retirement speech. Pam isn’t going anywhere. This is just a marker in an ongoing career that continues to shape Martin Horn for the better. So join me in celebrating an incredible safety year and an even more incredible leader. Thank you, Pam, for making us all better.
