Cost: $10 million Completion: September 2008 Building near the University of Virginia usually means negotiating a tight site. Finding room to store materials, operating machinery, and coping with traffic can lead to delays and unexpected costs. We've developed expertise working in these conditions. That's why a long-term client hired Martin Horn to build the Barringer. The Barringer is a 8-story, 50-unit, 79,230 sf condominium building wedged onto .86 acres near UVa hospital. The design called for two levels of structured parking and five levels of condos, including 10 upscale penthouses with custom finishes. After 16 months of construction, the $10 million was completed on time and under budget for a very happy client.
