Shortly after beginning this $12 million dollar, 4-story steel-frame building, we ran into trouble: rock. After exploring numerous options, the rock was cleared using a breaker and track drill, but the job was now two months behind. To finish on time, Martin Horn suggested changing the stick-built system to pre-manufactured SIP panels. By working collaboratively with owner and architect, using just-in-time procurement methods, and expediting on-site work, we met the schedule--within the budget and without sacrificing quality.
The project’s success was a testament to innovative thinking and positive collaboration between owner, architect, and general contractor.
